The Forsyth Promise …

… leading the way to a new Cradle-2-Career community partnership …

The Winston-Salem / Forsyth County Community is on the move, building a community-designed and community-owned strategic plan for patching the leaks and strengthening the overall cradle to career pipeline in our community.

IMAG0149The work began with the Community Education Collaborative, an award-winning joint venture of our community’s Chamber of Commerce and United Way http://wschronicle.com/2013/11/chamber-awards-business-leaders/.

The Community Education Collaborative (CEC) was an innovative approach to transforming schools in Winston-Salem/Forsyth County by fostering the collective capacity of teachers, administrators, parents, students, business leaders, faith community leaders, and community members. By partnering to ensure alignment within our public school system and between our system, community programs, and funders, the collaborative developed a greater sense of shared responsibility and accountability for student achievement.

With the assistance of the national Strive Together Network , the CEC is turning over the keys to its program, policy, and public education work to a new Cradle-2-Career community partnership–The Forsyth Promise.
