Improving quality in early childhood centers …

… stregthening the skills and enriching the environments in which our children develop and learn together …

Smart Start oF Forsyth County supports child care facilities in maintaining and enhancing the quality of their programs and services to young children.

Our professional staff provide a variety of Technical Assistance Services (TAS), a membership-based service for early childhood educators, child care providers, center directors, preschool teachers, teacher assistants/aides, nannies, family child care home providers, play group coordinators, early childhood education students, and any professional who works with children birth to five years of age.

Staff provide professional development, classroom and center resources, support, consultation, and technical and financial assistance. As a member, early education professionals receive services at no cost. Services include a curriculum support lending library, fingerprinting services (small cost associated with this service), professional development training, and a new-staff orientation offered twice a year.

A monthly directors forum offers important opportunities networking among owners and operators.

Child care centers may also participate in the quality maintenance and improvement program to achieve their highest possible ratings in the star system.
