Grant Opportunities
We are always seeking new ways to support qualified organizations with expertise in early childhood education and care, serving families with children up to five years old. Our funding supports Evidence-Based/ Informed Practices where our recipients mirror our fiscally responsible stewardship of taxpayer and private dollars, making sure that every dollar invested in early childhood development in Forsyth County delivers positive results.
Congratulations to the recipients of our COVID-19 Relief Fund!
Through the generosity of Cardinal Innovations Healthcare, the battle against the pandemic is being addressed for our low-income, minority communities that have carried the brunt of the virus’ social burdens. The social and economic impacts of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) are significant, and we are excited to support local efforts that are improving the health, wellness, and stability of vulnerable children and families in our community. We appreciate the commitment you have to our Forsyth County and we graciously "thank you" for submitting a COVID-19 Relief Fund proposal for consideration. Checks will be mailed directly to the facility address indicated on your application.
As we brace for the situation to worsen during the coming cold and flu season, we also know that the number of people facing acute hunger is expected to double by the end of the year. For our childcare centers, we are redoubling our efforts to provide more face masks, touchless thermometers, cleaning supplies, and food, when needed to safely reopen communities and workplaces across Forsyth County. Together, we can ensure that our essential workers and children have a seamless way to go about their work and lives more safely.
To date: 1,736 children under age five, who were served by 287 teachers in 42 childcare facilities received exactly the essential PPE items needed. 1,076 of those children have parents who serve as essential employees, including facility janitors, caregivers, and employees of emergency call centers, grocery/ gas stations, etc. We appreciate your service and continue to serve you.
