
Raising Forsyth, Smart Start of Forsyth County’s annual fundraising event is held each Spring to recognize and pay tribute to Early Childcare Professionals in Forsyth County, while raising funds to advance and improve Early Childhood Education across Forsyth County.
Keynote Presentation
Dr. Laura Gerald
President, Kate B. Reynolds Charitable Trust
Dr. Gerald works every day to ensure the Trust’s investments achieve Mrs. Reynolds’ vision of improving the health and quality of life of North Carolinians. She leads strategic direction and is responsible for overall management of the Trust. As president, she represents the Trust and takes a leadership role in philanthropy at the state and national level.
Dr. Gerald serves on the boards of Grantmakers in Health, Reynolda House, Southeastern Council of Foundations, and the North Carolina Network of Grantmakers. She is a board-certified pediatrician and fellow in American Academy of Pediatrics and an adjunct assistant professor at UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health. In addition, she has two beautiful boys, and enjoys hiking, traveling, cooking, and reading.
