Job Description

Job Purpose:

Position works with Sales and Technical staff to interpret project specifications and drawings, determine system layout, and develop bill of materials with installation labor projections for a successful project .

Salary Range for This Position: $25.00- $33.00 per hour -- Depending on relevant experience, education, and other factors

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for design, layout of access control, intrusion detection, fire alarm, voice/data, and paging systems.

• Assist with product data submittals and submission of shop drawings

• Utilize system knowledge, design tools and available resources to assist in system design tasks as needed.

• Knowledge of industry, engineering, math, and materials.

• Ability to analyze data and situations and come up with creative solutions.

• Keep up to date on industry and engineering standards.

Required Skills & Abilities:

• Intermediate to advanced skill level for CAD program is necessary for this position.

• Demonstrated experience with design of low voltage electrical systems is preferred.

• Technical design experience of intercom, commercial sound and A/V is preferred.

• Experience in commercial security or fire alarm systems is a plus.

• Must be self-motivated and punctual.

• Must know Microsoft Office products including Word and Excel .

• Must be able to manage multiple tasks and have excellent follow-up skills both internally and externally.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to demonstrate planning, organizing, and implementing skills which allow the successful completion of a project by a specific due date.

Education, License and Experience:

• CAD Certificate (with applicable experience) or 2/4-year degree

• Five years of experience in related field .

Physical Requirements:

• Requires prolonged sitting, standing, some bending, stooping, and stretching. Requires manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination for data input.
• Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 20 pounds.
• Must maintain a clear background check in order to satisfy customer jobsite badging requirements.
• Consistent, reliable, and timely attendance
• Maintain a clear drug and alcohol screening protocol.
• Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

Travel Requirements:

• Travel to customer jobsites when necessary
