THE PURPOSE: Own and evolve the email marketing strategy as a performance-driving channel. Deliver best-in-class lifecycle journeys, campaign innovation, and rigorous performance optimization that drive retention, conversion, and loyalty across both eCommerce and Retail businesses—while accelerating contactable list growth and increasing the impact of the channel over time.
THE ROLE (what you are accountable for)
· Lead audience growth strategy across email—driving acquisition, opt-in efficiency, and reactivation initiatives to grow the contactable file.
· Develop and execute audience segmentation strategies that balance growth with engagement and deliverability health.
· Own end-to-end email channel strategy and execution across campaign, triggered, and lifecycle flows—focused on driving revenue, engagement, and customer growth.
· Planning, creating, and executing high-performing email marketing campaigns.
· Collaborating with the consumer insights manager to integrate customer segmentation and personalization.
· Partnering with analytics to identify actionable insights, prioritize test-and-learn agendas, and develop performance-optimized messaging strategies.
· Developing A/B testing strategies to improve subject lines, content, and engagement.
· Analyzing campaign performance metrics and optimize strategies based on insights.
· Ensuring compliance with email marketing regulations (GDPR, CAN-SPAM, etc.).
· Managing the offshore email coder to ensure flawless execution of all email campaigns.
· Collaborating with cross-functional teams across loyalty, SMS, and push to ensure omni-channel cohesion and maximize LTV.
· Proactively identifying new tools, creative formats, and platform innovations to enhance performance and personalization at scale.

REQUIRED MINIMUM EXPERIENCE
· 3–5 years of experience in email marketing, campaign management, or a related role.
· Proven expertise in email marketing platforms (e.g., Listrak, Iterable, Klaviyo, Salesforce Marketing Cloud).
· Demonstrated experience with A/B testing for subject lines, copy, design, and send times.
· Hands-on experience with email automation workflows for lifecycle campaigns (e.g., onboarding, win-back).
· Knowledge of email deliverability best practices, including CAN-SPAM, GDPR, and other compliance regulations.
· Basic proficiency in HTML and CSS for email formatting and template customization.
· Strong data analysis skills with experience using Google Analytics or similar tools for campaign performance tracking.
· Experience creating and managing segmented email lists to optimize targeting and personalization.
· Familiarity with email engagement KPIs (open rates, CTR, unsubscribe rates) and reporting.
· Comfortable taking full ownership of a channel—including planning, optimization, creative briefing, testing, and post-campaign analysis—with limited oversight.
· Understanding of audience growth levers (e.g., onsite/email capture, loyalty sign-up, paid acquisition) and their downstream impact on performance.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
· Experience with advanced segmentation and personalization strategies using Customer Data Platforms (CDPs).
· Experience with Listrak, Attentive, Airship marketing platforms a plus.
· Familiarity with multivariate testing for deeper insights into customer behavior and email performance.
· Knowledge of integrating email campaigns with other marketing channels, such as SMS, push notifications, and loyalty programs, for a cohesive customer experience.
· Expertise in creating and managing dynamic email content to deliver highly personalized campaigns at scale.
· Background in retention marketing, with a proven track record of increasing customer lifetime value (CLV) and reducing churn through email strategies.
· Experience working in cross-functional teams, collaborating with product, design, and analytics teams.
· Proven ability to optimize email campaigns using insights derived from customer journeys and lifecycle metrics.
· Strong understanding of APIs for integrating email platforms with other tools and systems (e.g., CRM, CDP).
· Certifications in email marketing, such as HubSpot Email Marketing Certification or equivalent.
· Experience with international email campaigns, ensuring cultural and regulatory compliance across regions.
· Track record of driving meaningful innovation within the email channel—whether through new creative formats, emerging technologies, or experimental strategies.
