SS&C is seeking a C/Unix Scripting Developer to join our Trade Thru Development Team. This person will design, develop, and implement documented as well as verbal functional specifications. This person will provide support for applications deployed in the private cloud/network and at remote client sites. Candidates will demonstrate problem-solving skills, readiness to collaborate with internal teams, including development and business teams, and an ability to design solution fixes and either implement them or collaborate on the implementation. Successful candidates should possess strong technical skills, a willingness to embrace new technologies, a passion for client service, and the ability to adapt to changing priorities. Required skills and Experiences include a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field; minimum 4-5 years equivalent work-related experience in Unix C development and Kornshell/Bash scripting development; experience with C and Unix scripting, debugging tools, and tracing techniques; experience with modern source control tools such as GitHub and CVS; understanding of modern software design and development methodologies; experience with the full software development life cycle; ability to determine the root cause of end-user reported issues/concerns and provide solutions; ability to be proactive and meet mission-critical delivery deadlines; ability to adapt to changing priorities; passion for continuous learning; ability to identify opportunities for process improvement; strong communication skills; ability to work independently; willingness to work outside normal business hours when needed. Nice to have skills include knowledge of/experience in the Financial Services Industry, familiarity with RDBMS databases such as SQL Server and Oracle, application development experience with C++, T-SQL, PL/SQL, XML, and experience with IBM MQ or sockets. The position offers a hybrid work model and business casual dress code, including jeans.
