Teaching and Learning Services

Our Teaching and Learning Services (TLS) Team provides training, technical assistance, coaching and support to childcare providers. The TLS Team consists of highly qualified Technical Assistance Specialists who have a strong background in Early Childhood Education and Administration. The team provides services that help childcare providers throughout Forsyth County gain and/or maintain quality childcare; they also provide assessments of classroom-level processes, trauma-informed practices, evidence-based instructional supports, and developmentally appropriate practices associated with children’s positive developmental outcomes. In addition, TLS provides leadership development for early childhood administrators to improve knowledge and implementation of programmatic and business practices.


Outdoor Learning Environments (ODLE) support will be provided to directors and assistant directors operating under a provisional/temporary license or a one-, two-, three-, four- and five-star rated license childcare centers desiring to enhance their outdoor learning environment by transitioning to a natural outdoor learning environment.


Conscious Discipline Three and Four (CDPREK) supports three- and four-your old teachers operating under a provisional/temporary license or a one-, two-, three-, four- and five-star rated license childcare centers providing early education for children ages three and four through group coaching about social emotional development and techniques that can be used to enhance the children’s learning and understanding in this area and one-on-one coaching to enhance the teachers use and effectiveness of the skills learned.


Conscious Discipline Infant Toddler (CDIT) supports Infant and Toddler teachers operating under a provisional/temporary license or a one-, two-, three-, four- and five-star rated license childcare centers providing early education for infants through three-years-old through group coaching about social emotional development and techniques that can be used to enhance the children’s learning and understanding in this area and one-on-one coaching to enhance the teachers use and effectiveness of the skills learned.

Social-Emotional/Challenging Behaviors and Inclusion Support offers instructional support to teachers providing early education to three- and four-year-old children, in licensed early childhood learning environments.


Practice Based Coaching Three/Four (PBC) supports three- and four-year-old teachers operating under a provisional/temporary license or a one-, two-, three-, four- and five-stars rated license childcare centers providing early education for children ages three and four to enhance intentional interactions in the classroom through of one-on-one coaching to enhance their skills.


Making the Most of Classroom Interactions Infant/Toddler (MMCI) supports Infant and Toddler teachers operating under a provisional/temporary license or a one-, two-, three-, four- and five-star rated license childcare centers providing early education for infants to three-year old’s through group coaching about intentional interactions and one-on-one coaching, to enhance their skills.


Re-Licensure for Quality Maintenance is available to childcare centers who seek to maintain their star rating during the re-licensure process. Consultation services are also available to centers and religious-based facilities with five-star rated license.
