Responding to Emergencies due to Food Allergies

Enhance your readiness to manage severe allergic reactions with our focused training session. This workshop is specifically designed to provide childcare providers, educators, and caregivers with the critical knowledge needed to identify signs and symptoms of severe allergic reactions, including anaphylaxis.

Participants will gain a thorough understanding of how to properly store epinephrine auto-injectors and the importance of accurate documentation. The session will also cover the essential steps for responding to allergic reactions and the necessary emergency follow-up procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of children in their care.

Please note, while this training equips participants with the knowledge to recognize and respond to allergic emergencies, it does not prepare individuals to administer medication to children. We strongly recommend additional, in-depth, in-person, skills-based training for early educators who will be responsible for giving medication to children. This session is a crucial step towards creating a safer environment for all children, emphasizing the importance of preparedness and proper response in emergency situations.
