Smart Start of Forsyth County Announces 2023-2025 Officers and Committee Chairs #3

The grant funding will go to Smart Start of Forsyth County, which will partner with many organizations in the Pre-K Priority for various efforts.


Forsyth County, November 1, 2023 – Smart Start of Forsyth County (SSFC) is delighted to introduce its newly appointed Officers and Committee Chairs for 2023-2025. These dedicated individuals bring a wealth of experience and expertise to their respective roles, further strengthening SSFC’s mission to support the community and families in Forsyth County. The 2023-2025 Officers and Committee Chairs are as follows:

  • Immediate Past Chair: Mr. Reginald McCaskill (Maximum Enterprises, Inc. of Winston-Salem) · Chair: Pastor Tembila Convington (Neighbors for Better Neighborhoods)
  • Vice Chair: Linda Barnes (Mayor’s Office)
  • Treasurer: Mr. Bennet Bruff (Turlington & Company, LLP)
  • Secretary: Jessica McCrory (Community Advocate)


“As the newly appointed Board Chair, it is both a challenging and an exciting time to take on this role,” said Pastor Tembila Convington. “Nonprofits need strong support and a diverse board of the community and families we serve.” Linda Barnes, Bennet Bruff, and Jessica McCrory bring a wealth of experience to the SSFC Board, with backgrounds in government, advocacy, and finance, along with proven track records of accomplishments in business, philanthropy, and nonprofits. Their collective expertise will further enhance SSFC’s efforts for Forsyth County’s over 350,000 residents. “We couldn’t be more excited about our new Officers,” remarked Dr. Louis Finney, Smart Start’s President and CEO.
